Costa Coffee Offering 50p Drinks To Celebrate 50th Anniversary

To celebrate Costa’s 50th anniversary, the chain is offering customers cut price deals on drinks.

From Tuesday (13 April) to Thursday (15 April), Costa Coffee Club mobile app users will be able to pick up a brew for just 50p.

All you have to do is scan the
app when you purchase any hot drink at a participating Costa Coffee store and you’re all good to go.

That means you will be able to tuck into an oat milk Flat-White, Hot Chocolate, or the latest additions to the menu such the Toffee Spiced Latte, for an absolute snip.

Speaking about the deal, a spokesperson for Costa Coffee said: “We are delighted to continue our 50th birthday celebrations by bringing Costa Coffee fans this amazing offer of ANY barista-made hot drink for just 50p.

“We know it’s been a tough start to 2021 for many and we want to bring some joy to our customers this spring, especially at a time when lockdown restrictions are easing, and we now have an opportunity to catch up with friends and family.”

This Monday (12 April) marks the next step in the UK government’s ‘roadmap’ out of lockdown, with high streets set to return to some kind of normality.

Back in February, Prime Minister Boris Johnson outlined the government’s plan to reopen England and get the economy moving once again.

As opposed to previous lifting of restrictions, the rules will change uniformly across England, meaning the entire country will benefit from relaxed measures.

From 8 March, we were allowed to meet up with one other person from outside our household to socialise (rather than only to exercise, as before), while from 29 March, the rule of six was reintroduced, with outdoor sports recommencing too.

Well, the next set of changes will come into force from Monday. And there’s lots to look forward to.

So what’s the craic?

Well, for a start, pubs, bars and restaurants with outdoor seating will be allowed to reopen once again. Finally!

This means that we’ll be able to meet up with our mates – in groups of six or from two households, all socially distanced, of course – for a couple of jars.

Non-essential businesses, shops, gyms and outdoor attractions like zoos and theme parks will also be allowed to reopen from this week.

And domestic travel will be permitted, with people allowed to book self-contained accommodation such as Airbnb, campsites or cottages.
